Key Stage 1 Maths
The Darts Challenge

Sabina has three darts.

She throws them at the dart board.

They all land on the dartboard and score.

The darts could land in the same coloured ring.

What is the most Sabina could score?

Can you find five other possible scores?

Helpful Hints

All three darts could land in the blue outer ring and score 3 points each.
So she scores a total of 9.

3 + 3 + 3 = 9

OR

The first two darts could land in the blue outer ring and the third dart could land in the red inner ring.

So she scores a total of 10.

3 + 3 + 4 = 10

OR

The first two darts could land in the blue outer ring and the third dart could land in the yellow inner ring.

So she scores a total of 13.

3 + 3 + 7 = 13

Continue to work systematically to find all the possible answers.
