About us

Maths is everywhere! It is impossible to think about the world without maths. We see it everyday - when we get up for school, playing with our friends, climbing a tree, sharing out sweets or going to the park.
Maths at school can sometimes seem to only be about numbers but it is much, much more than that. The word mathematics comes from the Greek Mathema which means knowledge. Some say maths is about ‘making and playing with patterns’. It is also about reasoning logically and proving something. On this website we want you to explore problems, find solutions, sometimes share your reasoning but above all have fun.

So are you ready to get involved in Manor MAT Maths and boggle your brain? Do you enjoy solving puzzles? Can you spot patterns? Can you experiment with numbers and shapes? And do you want to share your solutions with others? Then why not join in with all nine schools to solve the latest maths problem each month.
How it works:
On the first of each calendar month, new problems will land here. You will have until the 21st of that same month to submit your solution. Your solutions will then be shared with your teachers and children across the MAT. In praise assembly each month, everyone’s contribution will be celebrated.
The problems are divided into three phases: Early Years, Key Stage One and Key Stage Two. Choose which phase you are in and click the button.
You might need a piece of paper and a pencil to write down your thoughts and ideas or do some working out. Sometimes there will be interactive tools to help you solve the problem.
When you have found the solutions, send it in to us using the form you can download - the most important thing is that you enjoy having a go!

A big thank you to our
